Abstract:

The second volume of the Handbook of Identification of fungus gnats of Russia and adjacent areas of the former USSR covers the largest subfamily of fungus gnats - Mycetophilinae which incorporates species developed as larvae mostly in fruiting bodies of basidiomycetes and ascomycetes. A total of more than 550 species are included and illustrated. Practical keys for identifying species are developed. The known data on the distribution and biology of the species with the information of their relationships with different fungal taxa are generalized as well.
