Diagnostic description:
Closely related to Loyugesa, distinguished by: virtually complete absence of proboscis; G eyes with dorsoventral differentiation of facets (dorsal oneslarger); swelling of the costal margin at the apex of R1; and infuscation on the costal margin, with 2 clear windows. Comparing to Matileola Seguyola has:
head rather globular
proboscis minute
flagellomeres 11
mesonotum strongly humped
fore/hind coxa nearly 1:1
tibial spurs 1:2:2
wing vividly coloured
C area at apex of R1 broadened
abdomen ca. as long as wing, not thin
tergite 9/gonocoxites much less than 1.0
