Remarks: All original sources of Mycomyia fissa by Plassmann (1974, 1978a, 1979, 1980) have been questioned by Väisänen (1984) who suggested they rather belong to Mycomya wankowiczii, a solution adopted here also for secondary sources by Hackman et al. (1988) and Chandler (2005).
